EXO, a company where Kylla serves as the Director of Finance & Administration, has acquired a majority stake in the largest gold and copper mine in Oman. The investment aims to help realise the potential of a major mining asset called Block 10, in Yangul, that is rich in copper and gold deposits. The entire block, which is in the western part of the Sultanate of Oman, covers some 370 square kilometres, and preliminarily assessments indicate it may contain some 18 million tonnes of copper ore and 15 tonnes of gold. As only around 10% of the area has been explored, however, the totals could turn out to be much higher. The state-owned Oman Mining Company and Oman’s new mining investment and development flagship, Minerals Development Oman, will remain minority shareholders.
